But the Railhead 20 miles behind Bakhmut at Popasna IS a strategic target for Ukraine.
Take that and huge chunks of Russian front are cut off from rail delivered supplies.
Ukrainine doesn't rely on rail heads for supplies so bridges across the Dinipro from Zaporizhzhia to Kyiv and across other rivers are less vulnerable to Russian attack and the routes across most rivers are backed up with non-deployed Pontoon bridges in case the Russians hit them with their inaccurate shit.

Asside from the NY court hearings which unlikely to get a conviction (lets be honest many of the charges are a bit dubious - but thats for another thread).
More importantly though, he's lost the future votes of many trad Republicans who detest his style and the damage it is doing to US alliances and military effectiveness.

spot on. losing this town was crucial last year and it cost Ukraine the south. it is almost impossible to be on the defensive side there. sooner or later Ukraine liberate the south and Crimea. the hardest will be the East. too close to russia

But Kaz, Trad Republicans in both houses wouldn't allow that. There would be a 70%+ majority in bith houses to continue supplying Ukraine. The power of the President is blocked by a super Majority in both houses.
