I'm sure Ukraine and now NATO couldn't give a shit as to what Russia wants.Yes, tragically, but the problems for a lot of NATO members remain the same.
Russia really doesn’t want Ukraine in NATO, NATO doesn’t want to be fighting Russia the next time things kick off in the East, and making a firm commitment to Ukraine on membership in the short or medium term would make brokering a peace deal - if it comes to that - more difficult.
That kind of thing floats your boat does it ? :)I would prefer it to be seized and subsequently guarded by a load of transsexuals wearing Nazi uniforms.

Difficult to see how that could happen given that Russia wouldn’t allow any NATO troops in Ukraine.
Aye, but let the civilians out first, then isolate the army.I would love to see the bridge taken out permanently
Exactly.Since Russia cannot even beat the Ukraine, they are i no position to do anything if they join NATO anyway.
What people forget is that NATO isn't an actual army. It doesn't actually exist as such. It is a defensive agreement between countries.
What Putin doesn't want is a western influence in regions they see as their own. It would also allow modern weapons much closer to his borders. Yet in this modern age, distance doesn't really matter if it all goes tits up.
Therefore NATO poses no risk to Russia in any real terms.
He's just a bully who doesn't want to lose control of his victims...
Agree if they choose to leave.Aye, but let the civilians out first, then isolate the army.
Yep. Less people to feed.Aye, but let the civilians out first, then isolate the army.
As soon as this war is over and Ukraine have regained all their territory they will be accepted into NATO almost immediately. Russia doesn’t have a say in anything anymore as everyone knows its nuclear posturing is just empty threats, and they have lost any credibility in terms of being taken seriously.NATO is very unlikely to offer Ukraine membership in the short term, so the question is whether the West could offer any defence assurances to Ukraine that would be credible and robust enough to secure a peace deal.
