Russian invasion of Ukraine

Exactly, it takes 3 years to train up on fast jets but the actual flying skills etc are the same, the combat and so on but like you said one button can do 5 things that’s the stuff they have to learn, but these guys are switched on so should be 6 months to learn systems.
the british fighter pilot said he did it in 3 months,25 flights and simulators and mentioned the ukrainian pilots would have had more experience than him as they go out every day in combat

It wasn't the cleverest move from Wallace, but neither was Zelensjy's rant before he got to the NATO meeting either, he knows full well that NATO won't allow new members who are in a conflict, and timeframes won't be discussed until they are not (even if it's not their fault they are).
To be fair Ben Wallace and President Zelensky, Ben has been one of Ukraine's biggest supporters and the Mediah have taken both of their comments out of context from what they actually said.

It’s important to highlight that it’s not *just* training the pilots that is the issue, you also need to train teams to maintain them - and a fighter jet gets a thorough going over between flights - a strong stream of spare parts and also just as importantly a base close enough to the action but out of Russian range…

There’s plenty of NATO mercenaries already working in Ukraine on the ground. So why can’t the same apply in the air?
Just Google Blackwater Mercenaries Ukraine.

Looks like the Storm Shadow attack on the hotel in Berdiansk took out senior command officers and their staff by the truck load...
