Russian invasion of Ukraine

Problem with your argument about Russia not unleashing its full military might is that they are two years into this war and they still dont have air superiority over Ukraine.

This is something that the Alies achieved over Iraq in a few weeks. Why would they not want to have this superiority?? Why would they want Ukraine to still be able to launch attacks with their air force ? Your reasoning is nonsensical.

I'm not the leader of Russia or part of their military.

Why have they not got the superiority of Ukraine yet? could be anything.

In terms of Air superiority, could be one of many things. not wanting to bring in other Nato states if it went tits up, Ukraine's military being good at shooting them down with their equipment, and more.

I don't have the answers to that.

In terms of Iraq and other conflicts, they've not really had the equipment (on the ground or in the sky) to take down the Allies.

I don't think any of that is the real reason, your conjecture above hasn't stopped the Russians targeting Ukraine militarilly humantarially and with missiles so they clearly are not worried about upsetting NATO are they.

The underlying reason clearly is that Russia doesn't have the capability. You nearly admitted this when you said they were possibly worried about being shot down by Ukrainians. If it did have the capability the Russians would have done it straight away as its the most logical step in any military campaign. Ukraine doesnt have air superiority over Russia either hence the stalemate. But no one expected them to have that capability. You seem to think Russia has the capability but doesn't want to use it. That is not logical.

Maybe so, but there are clear differences when flying jets into airspace as to missiles being fired over to directed targets.

I never said they were worried, I said there could be many reasons why. For instance, the equipment Ukraine has been gifted from other countries are certainly a game changer.

And yes I agree on that part, as early in the conflict Russia were targeting Ukraine to stop them from getting up in the air.

Throughout the chat, I have been talking about their military in general and their capability. And they have not used anywhere close to the level of troops that they have been reported to have.

But, it’s on Google

Seriously, you are getting boring now, so you are getting muted.

You sound like a child when they argue.

Not only refusing just to do your digging around (Yes you can use Google search) into finding the information available & just going with the same repetitive angle.

I think the invasion has been quite embarrassing for the Russian military. Clearly it hasn't gone to plan at all and their are literally dozens of examples and incidents that indicate this.

The very first being their inability to take Kiev in the first few days. The next massive tell tale for me is their secrecy over the number of casualties they have endured.

The Kremlin have only admitted to 6000 killed in total. Real numbers are in the order of 200,000 to 400,000 killed and wounded.

Ate these the actions of a military superpower that is choosing to keep the majority of its military technology and huge advantage in numbers of men and equipment in reserve. I think not.

Out of interest, how many men do you think Russia has lost? Do you believe the official Kremlin figure of 6000 ?

Oh no, I agree more that the reports of Russian deaths or soldiers being captured over the 300,000 mark are correct.

Late last year the US military suggested there had been around 500,000 deaths between both sides.

Russia is a bully with huge numbers of fighting age personnel. That does not make them a superpower military wise.
@Man_City_Loyal struggles to differentiate between those.

If Russia had the military might claimed, this war in Ukraine would have been over in weeks.

Yet, the facts reveal Russia hasn't the capability some readily read and believe

OK so we can agree that that number of casulties supports the fact that the Russians have failed in their military objectives. I am sure we both agree on that.

If you accept the above you can only assume that the Russians are at the limit of their capability. If not why wouldn't they just press ahead and use their overwhelming superiority in number and equipment.

Or perhaps you think they want to keep losing 100,000 men a year and not use their superiority??

Which is it??
