The big difference between now and ww1, where whole villages volunteered, is media coverage. In the first world War young men thought it would be an adventure going abroad and smashing the hun. How many soon regretted their decision once they got to the trenches? Now we have wall to wall coverage of war, images of people getting shot or blown up. Not surprised no one wants to trot off to war.Dmitri is being a clown, the rough population figures of men in the UK at that age range is 14.8million and I didn't include 18 year olds or 40 year olds in that or women. 47% saying they would fight if threat of invasion is still a lot of people going into the millions and let's be honest more would choose to fight if we was backed into a corner. It's a silly question really as you would only truly know your decision if the time actually come to make it.
