Denmark urges Europe not to hide behind production problems in supplying weapons to Ukraine
The Prime Minister of Denmark, Mette Fredriksen, made the following statement during the Munich Security Conference:
"We, Denmark, have donated all of our artillery to Ukraine. So, excuse me, but the issue is not just about production. There is still military equipment in Europe. It needs to be transferred to Ukraine."
Mette Frederiksen also stated that Europeans should not wait for a decision in the US on further financing to help Ukraine.
"We, Europeans, must protect ourselves. This is a war on the European continent," she reminded.
"We must ensure that on Saturday, when the war has lasted two years, Ukraine will have more deliveries. Concrete deliveries on the ground, she says.
It's about ammunition, artillery, long-range missiles, drones and more for the coalition of F-16 aircraft."
- When I look at Europe during the Covid-19 pandemic, we managed to produce a vaccine in one year, which normally takes eight to ten years, she says.
- I would like to stress that on Saturday there should be new deliveries. New donations. Military equipment for Ukraine rather than more words. Words will not solve this situation.
