Russian invasion of Ukraine

I thought at the time that was a gamechanging moment, regardless of the immediate outcome. I was wrong.
It did seem a bit good to be true. All very fucking weird.
It was all a bit weird, but I think had he kept going something might have happened with putin, he seemed to have quite a bit of support, though I'm not sure a russia with him in charge would have been an improvement. The most bizarre bit of it all was when he took them all to belarus.

Once he'd given up though, there was no way putin was letting him and his cronies live on for long, hence the "tragic accident".

Putin has gone absolutely mad with power. I feel he is much more irrational than he was before. Hope the nuclear protocols are robust.

One of the weirdest moves i think a man could make.
To stop when he did was suicide.
What the hell did he think would happen to him next?

It was either go through with it regardless, or don't bother in the first place.

As mad as that **** was, he would have known he didn't actually have the men to take Moscow and there wasn't going to be the backup arriving.

Don't underestimate their feelings for their families. I think that's ultimately what prevented their suicide mission being completed on the ground. They would have known they were dead men after that and I'm convinced that's why they didn't bother to travel separately or put in place contingency planning.

Absolutely spot on. It just didn’t make sense. And for all his manifest faults, you couldn’t call him a coward. Far braver than the man that killed him.
