Russian invasion of Ukraine

Russia hit by sanctions.
At the end of February the US and EU increased sanctions against companies from Russia, Turkey and UAE. At the same time, they tightened up the policing of sanctions.
Key here were sanctions against the Russian shipping company Sovcomflot which is the main carrier of Russian crude exports. As a result, oil sales to India started to fall and important companies in Indian oil refining stopped buying Russian crude. Sales have fallen steadily over the last two months and are expected to fall further. Russia is running out of countries that will buy their crude, although China continues to do so.
Russian refining capacity has been reduced by closing some refineries and by Ukrainian drones hitting them.
These factors are not fatal to the Russian economy but enough to give them a big headache.

I read yesterday Russia shipping crude over to North Korea. Lets see how toothless the UN are..Maybe a threat from the USA and Europe and all of its friends to say to China if you are dealing with Russia youll not be dealing with us..

Not a chance the West has the cahoonas to threaten China. We rely too much on it and have backed ourselves into a corner
We won't even say anything to the UAE

Surely,as a terrorist, the aim would be to inflict the biggest death rate possible?
The chosen weapons was Kalashnikov Assault rifles, which can fire up to 600 rounds per minute.
Attack happened for about 20 minutes.....they "should of got a few thousand shots off between 4 of them,IMO.
These "4 terrorists" were firing in small bursts and sometimes single shots.
There were 6200 people in the hall and they "killed" 137??
Would they not just go in and empty as many mags as possible, maybe throw a few grenades etc?
Still not sitting right with me.

Slava Ukraini.
Each AK47 round weighs about an ounce. A standard magazine has 30 rounds so each magazine would weigh about 1 kilo. There’s a limit to how many they could carry and they’d have to reload every few seconds if they were just emptying it without finding targets. Although the guns can fire 600 rounds a minute, a single mag would only last 3 seconds before needing to be changed.

No idea about USA, but Europe would have to be more independent from Chinese metal sources for our windmills, Lithium batteries ...

Speaking for Germany - and I guess it's the same across Europe - we have to be nice to Uncle China while we try to diversify our suppliers in a very very tight world market as everybody wants the same. We need China more than they need us, is the bitter truth.

Part of our problem to make sanctions vs putin work.

Maybe hitting the North Koreans with a blockade of some kind to stop the crude leaving Russia and end up being swapped for ammo. Sanctions are imo not actually hitting hard enough.

NK are already entirely blockaded by the west. not sure there is anything else we can do there without involving China.

Anyone who has fired an AK47 will know you can't full auto it for long be a waste of time, the recoil is strong its 7.62 ffs lol. The most common weapon you will probably find in them neck of the woods so it is no surprise they used them.
