We have to take the gamble and let Ukraine use weapons to hit Russia back, can't keep letting them fight with hands tied behind their backs.

I’ve previously shied away from this viewpoint, but I’m arriving at the conclusion that now is the time

Yes. Not without risk, but he’s on the ropes and needs finishing off.

This may sound like an unreasonable question but after 2.5 years of a war in which Ukraine has been desperate for NATO weapons,why haven’t they been manufacturing their own weapons and building up their own supplies? Am I missing something? They could have built a load of long-range missiles capable of hitting anything they want in that time.
Or is it not that simple?

They have some armament industry, they have produced their neptune missile for example.
But complex arms, take specialist manpower, time, planning , industry (nb attackable) existing or being built, testing etc… you don’t get a complex system rapidly… though Ukraine has been quite ingenious and when under pressure humans can do amazing things in short spaces of time.

Harsher sanctions would of been better.Ghost ships,American tech and Russia still being able to sell diamonds..
