Russian invasion of Ukraine

Most of what we seem to get linked to on satellite imagery doesn't look like it's underground, it generally looks surface based, and even then, even if it's "hardened", concrete doesn't last forever, and will deteriorate over time.
Wouldnt be the first time that something look superficially from a distance quite substantial only to find out its inflatables with a bit of papier mache stuck on them.

It’s crazy to imagine the long term affect this will have on the Russian tax payer. Billions of $s worth of military infrastructure destroyed.

That’s on top of the munitions they’ve used, the salaries of soldiers.

Over half a million working age men dead/injured and no longer earning money and paying taxes.

Sanctions from the West.

Terrible future ahead of Russia.

All for what?
Putins ego.

Yeah, it's impossible to know. The rate of Russian losses seems completely unsustainable, but exactly how long they can continue, and what will happen when they no longer can (anything from complete collapse to stalemate of current lines) is impossible to gauge. For me at least.
They could continue for another year or so but then the wheels just fall off.
Much like the German offensive in 1918 from Eastern front troops and guns being redeployed - It nearly broke the allies in Northern France but the rate of attrition to Germany in the offensive was so unsustainable and it cost Germany the war.

We were hearing the same thing a year ago mind you.

there has to be a tipping point thats a given but the expected date keeps getting put back.

The cynic in me thinks NATO and most importantly the US want the war the continue indefinitely.

If Ukraine look like they’re going to definitively finish Russia off, we’ll see a slow down in military aid.

Because the west doesn't want Russia to fall apart for some reason.
Probably nukes falling into the hands of Islamists and others
It's better the Russian federation stays together
Look what the middle east and north Africa is like with its waring factions
I've said it before, i think the West wants the ruSSian government to collapse from the inside and have a "friendly" ruSSia phoenix from it
IMO, the West doesn't want ruSSia slaughtered on the battlefield
