Russian invasion of Ukraine

This nuclear threat is going to allow Putin to invade every non-NATO, non-EU country that he wants.

It's the bully storming around the playground approach.

I understand the fallout of direct involvement but more needs to be done to support Ukraine. They need more planes, more weapons, more of everything.
To what end? Seriously.

I don't make posts like this to be deliberately argumentative. I just really wonder if people have thought it through. Before advocating a course of actions, surely it's sensible to consider what it is you want to achieve, how realistic that is and to have a plan which covers the bases?

Just throwing more arms at Ukraine and hoping it all goes away seems to me like a pretty half-baked idea, and certainly not a coherent strategy.

I mean seriously, where is Biden in all of this, other that hollow words about him being a very naughty boy. Seems the west is prepared to fight until the very last Ukrainian death.

Putin has to be careful here
He can keep pushing and making threats but ultimately if he instigates a full scale war with the west he will lose and lose big time
The west doesn’t want to engage, but if and when forced to they will destroy him
He won't because he wants Ukraine and has invaded before they had a chance to join NATO. The fuckface wouldn't be doing it if they were in. He'd never realise his dream if they did so he's taken the opportunity whilst they are unprotected.

In a few years of months if he's successful it will be onto Georgia or somewhere else. He's not finished just yet

Anyone backing Putin & Russia, making excuses for them or saying they've got a point, is a massive ****
It's people like you that are spouting abuse on FB at me - all because I've got a Russian flag as a profile pic and have suggested we support Putin and Nicholai Sturgeon.

It's not propaganda that 2,000 people were arrested for protesting, the biggest since Navalny was arrested and 20,000 people were arrested and beaten.

It's not propaganda that Russia has taken down twitter and Facebook to stop people seeing what's going on.

It's not propaganda that they've closed down the only Russian TV station that aired negative opinions of the government.

It's not propaganda that dozens of high profile Russian celebrities have spoken out against the war.

Putin is not doing these things because he has universal support for his invasion. A crackdown on free press and media comes when things are getting unruly and you need to stop the damage.
So right. Nor is it propaganda that Putin has killed or imprisoned opponents, killed journalists, sent executioners to the UK to hunt down his opponents and so much more.
