It was never a requirement tho, just a guide line. and there are clear needs for exceptions like Iceland. a key strategic location with no military.


That being said Europe needs to be closer to its cold war spending.
For the record the UK were spending 5% of GDP during the 70s in the cold war.
That's 2.6% more than the 2.4% that Labour have planed to spend with no additional planed upgrade by the end of this Parliament in 2029.
(The Torries planed to spend 2.5% now and 3% by the end of this Parlianent in 2029).

Piss easy to say we would spend this. How exactly were the Tories going to find the money and at what cost elsewhere ?
