Disagree.

There is indeed a cause to push back - because the USA has withdrawn weapons supplies to the Ukraine on a pretext. So counter with your own pretext. Nothing to lose - Trump was never going to honor this deal in the first place.

All of this support for Ukraine in return for rare earths deal with Trump was bullshit from the beginning - but maybe there's a chance that the US could continue to supply weapons to Ukraine if optics for Trump are poor.

Following the large scale drone and aerial attacks on Kiev last week, which happened to coincide with trump's phone call to putin, there’s been quite numerous calls from trump's party to reverse the weapons decision and a number who are saying publicly that putin is making a mockery of the US and trump
Zelenskyy spoke with trump on Friday and reported it was the best conversation he's ever had with trump
There's a slight possibility of winning the fat orange **** over, so it is the wrong time to make threats

On the other hand, that supposed letter probably won't work - because there are so many members of Trump's administration that are either pro-Russia or anti-support for Ukraine or both - that Ukraine will never get anything from the USA under Trump - at least on a consistent basis - if they have their way.

On the other hand - Trump is such a narcissist that such a letter might well work.

Who knows?

Write the obsequious letter - see what happens - and if it doesn't work - cut ties with the USA - hoping that the EU comes through once it's clear that no support from the USA is forthcoming.

Believe in what Trump does, not what Trump says, IMO. His words are worth less than nothing.
