Improving us at left back isn't going to be difficult tbf.If we are after him it is because he has skills we need and he will improve us.

They already have a world class left back and will possibly be signing his understudy ... Gael Clichy. He plays for Southampton, doesn't he? Why haven't the Dippers signed him?
I know, I was trying to explain to the poster moaning about his pay rise :)Improving us at left back isn't going to be difficult tbf.
I think its more a case of solving the fullback issue.İt is better to spend 25 for Bertrand than 45 for Walker if we only aim to solve HG issue. Consider that they are both 27 and individually same quality.
Would Kompany? Or Aguero? It's a non-argument.
Is Bertrand a good option for us is the only question Pep, and we, should be asking. I feel the answer could be yes.
These were the same arguments for Sinclair, Rodwell and Delph.
Sceptical on Bertrand.
Would he get in Real Madrid's team? Would he get in Bayern Munich's team? Would he get in Barcelona's team?
The answer is no. If he is being bought as a squad player fair enough, but if he is being bought as first choice. No thanks. I want better than just adequate.
He isn't in the same class as Marcelo. Not even close. obviously he isn't getting into Madrid or bayern. But we are not in the sane class as those two clubs anyway. Not yet.
Nevertheless it will be an underwhelming signing. Rose is a much better player if we are looking at English LB.
