i still dont understand your point, if people are from salford who should they support ????????
any team from salford

I know this may be a littlle contraversial and a bit of a taboo

what is the difference
I live in singapore / kent / boston (lincs) we do not have a top team of our own so I and have all the man u shirts/ wallpaper/ light switches in club colours and go to as many games as I can. = plastic / glory hunter according to most blues

or
I am from Salford we do not have a top flight team of our own so I have all the man city shirts/ wallpaper / light switches in club colours and go to as many games as I can = plastic / glory hunter according to just me I don't think so but not everone will admit it

not much differance in the two statments however you fancy it up imho
and how many of you who do not come from amchester have ever called the rag fans glory hunters or sang fcuk off back to london ?

That's right. Me, born in Trafford General and brought up in Salford (an area which directly borders Manchester City Centre), went to school in Eccles, went to University in Manchester and has always socialised in Manchester, is no different to someone from the South of England or a different country who has chosen City as their club to 'gloryhunt' as you say.

Your argument had no credibility to start with but now it's crumbled.

I myself cannot understand why anybody could choose to support a club from another town / city/ country.

Wythenshawe is a town surely then you should support local club Wythenshaw Town?

Numpty. IMAO
You should ask the Sheik why he wants to put his money into a club from another country. FFS wise up ye diddy.
why he has already stated why he bought City

to raise the profile of Abu Dhabi or did you think he did it because he is a massive blue ?

whilst I am very grateful he chose us I am not stupid and I realise if a n other club in the premier had been a better vehicle for his ambitions he would not have chose us

that point just supported my argument why has it crumbled ?

you are either from Manchester or you aren't the only argument you seem to have is distance makes it more acceptable

I'm out of this fucking thread. I can't believe I got sucked in with this crap.

I really am shocked at this thread, how on earth has it gone on this long.

Lads lets let whp.blue talk shit in here on his own

As a Salfordian I do support my local club, Salford RLFC, or Salford City Reds as they now cringingly call themselves. The new proposed ground is in Trafford. This does irritate me a bit but it's no big deal. By the grace of God I have always supported city. As you would expect, most of my mates are reds. None has ever queried why I support city, as Maine rd was at least, ooh, 5 miles away, and OT so much closer.....about 3.5 miles.

The real missed point is that the unions nomination of Aung San Suu Kyi was snubbed for the part time welsh footballer.

Salford shares its city centre with Manchester so has more of a connection than Trafford does.

i live in stockport which is technically south Manchester , im 17 and been a city fan all my life , city has been in my family for years and years , but just because i do not live in moss side beswick or somewhere that is classed as Manchester does that mean im a glory hunter.

Stockport has a town hall so how in gods name can it technically be in south manchester ?
and why don't you support your home town club ? or is it because Manchester City are a better team ?
