I was born in Stepping Hill Hospital in Stockport and was brought up in High Lane. After reading this highly enlightening thread I have decided to burn my season ticket and decades worth of city kits to go and support the mighty New Mills. Hope you're happy. I'm not.

I was born in Newton Heath and brought up in Failsworth, now I'm living in Canada. If I had kids they would be wearing City shirts just like me and my Canadian wife.

I think we deserve more praise than the Mancs - (for living in rag land and being Salfordian blues)

what makes me laugh is that Whythenshaw (where I work and live just 1 mile from the border of in Timperley) is about 8 miles from Mcr city center and 9 miles from the CoMS! and Higher Broughton, Salford is just 3 miles from Mcr city center and 4 miles from the CoMS and Salford Central Station is in Mcr city center!
IMO Mcr and Salford are 2 cities boroughs within the wider area of Manchester which also includes Trafford (where I live) also some parts of Tameside and places like Middleton and Whitefield!
my bird is from Salford- originally Weaste, then Little Hulton mow she lives in Mcr city center and although she is proud to be from Salford she considers herself Mancunian, as do I even though I live in Trafford! I spend most of my time in Manchester working, going out, shopping, drinking, visiting mates, seeing my bird, watching my footy team, my Mams from Moss Side as are most of my family and I was born in St Mary's hospital! so there's no way anyone can tell me I'm not Mancunian even if I live in United land (who also play in the wider area of Manchester whether it's not in the Borough of Mcr itself it is still Manchester!!

I've not read all this thread, but I assume the conclusion has come about that any blue from Salford is in fact a plastic?
I'm glad I know now, best burn my shirts and card and get to the Old Trafford megastore as quick as possible.
