Sacking Mancini... was there even a choice?

spot on. so he upset players. slur alex has never done that has he? and clough revie shankley etc. ffs. mancini won us trophies. end of. so some prima donnas didn't like it that he didn't hug them. and imo joe hart should shut the fuck up and concentrate on his job and his distribution for instance rather than trying to be the manager as he was in madrid. feeling totally pissed off with the players as this season ends not the ex- manager who was in charge when we won things i never thought i would see in my lifetime.

It's not some of the players it's all of them. It's also most of the board etc... It's not that he didn't hug them. It's that he ripped them in the media and insisted on playing systems that weren't effective and dropping and subbing players who were playing well and continuing to play players in poor form. etc...

Not sure you can look at Pellegrinis record and say there in nothing tangible, he does appear to have overachieved at every club he has been at, admittedly not overachieved with silverware but overachieved all the same

Did Mancini overachieve at Inter and City? Not sure

On the downside you could also argue Moyes overachieved with Everton without silverware, so we might be getting a Chilean Moyes!
sounds painfull

You are clearly a Pellegrini man - but you don't have to disrespect Mancini's achievements in order to back your man. Even us "inners" accept it's over and hope whoever comes in is the right choice. But - tell me - why are you so totally convinced that Pellegrini will be the right choice - based on what? I acknowledge he is a decent manager or we wouldn't be entertaining him - but why (as you have posted elsewhere) so sure he'll win us the title next year??
Based on hope or on an insight we don't have?

You know, saying "you're clearly a Pellegrini man" is about as disrespectful as saying "you're clearly a Mancini City fan, not a Manchester City fan." If you accept that its over for Mancini at this club, then you should be as optimistic and supportive of whoever we replace him with. You can have whatever misgivings you want about the whole situation, but Mancini was a manager, not the fucking club itself.

The insight you apparently don't have, is that Pellegrini has consistently (without a single faltering season) overachieved at every club he's managed. He's brought two clubs with no real European pedigree (or any at all for that matter) and gotten them to the semi-finals and quarter-finals of the Champions League. If that doesn't boost your confidence, when our previous manager has a dismal record in the same competition, then I don't know what would.

If you need further proof, look at the praise and quotes from players we are considering signing. Simply having a decent shot at bringing in Pellegrini seems to have increased our prospects in the transfer market greatly.

this whole episode has been very good for bluemoon, it has weeded out the ones who know sweet fuck all about what was happening at our club, they are called the inners.

it was amusing reading their posts, completely oblivious. bless em!

Honestly never liked RM as our manager, I just think he should have pushed us more, I did not see that passion in him after we won the title last season. Don´t get me wrong, I love what he achieved in his tenure, but I just think that with the players we have, he should have done more, especially this season. We had some pretty ugly games, no passion, just poor playing and bit lucky results to be honest.

I just think that we should have done lots more with players we have, especially in CL. We looked more like Dinamo Zagreb or BATE Borisov in this years CL, with all do respect to mentioned clubs, than the champions of England.

I hope that our style of play will be more aggressive, where we press teams right away when we lose possession. Press, win possession and attack str8 forward. We have the players that can do that and with possible additions of Cavani this summer I think we should be force to be recon with in the future with Pellegrini (if it is him).

Both sides of the argument haven't come out of this situation with too much credit, me included.

Maybe.

But it shows the difference between those who saw what was there, and those who saw what they wanted.

If the players were showing that they were pulling in the same direction then the Mancini out argument would of been a little flimsy.

good point mate, but I thought it was pretty bad the way some well placed members on here were shouted down for not being pro mancini, being called rags etc.

it was plain as day that the players didn't like him, but mention that on here and you were subjected to abuse

This.

'he has a 5 year contract'
yes he has but there's likely to be clauses in that and objective (I said that and I know others did too)

'40 thousand sing his name'
we know but that's because we are great, however fans won't have any shaping on the owners thoughts

'you are all spoilt'
so wanting £100m for Mancini to get things right and buy players to replace guys he's bought, ok yeah, I get this

That's been the tone for 6 months. Getting called a Rag, JCL, Spolit ****, Ungrateful bastard etc. All because you saw what others didn't want to see, regression on the pitch in playing style and performance and awful man-management.

Anyway, it's over, next time some of the tits on here can read and digest, they may learn summat next time.

Why are we persisting with the inners/outers arguments and slagging off?

I'm very happy with the Mancini years at the club, they were very good ones for all of us. Whether we would have continued to move forward if he stayed, who knows and who really cares?

The club have moved on, maybe some of us should as well.

Add to that Nip

The fans sing his name as they see him as the leader of the ship but all they really see is his smiling face on TV and the fact that he was the leader who delivered some of the happiest days of our lives supporting City. They don't have to work for him or with him

I would of liked to have seen how many people on here who if treated the same way by their employer would tolerate such an attitude and behaviour

Lets move on. I wish him the very best. Cheers for everything he did for us.
Anyway done and dusted

No. There was a metric fuck-ton of that on both sides as well as heaping dishes of self-righteous outrage.

+ a fucking big yes from me.Really is about time we all moved on.I assumed that after Sundays game and the great send off,we gave to Bobby, everything would have been in place for our supporters to get ready for our new man.
Not so !! Still some people can`t let go of the fact that RM is now an ex manager.

Youre right but its easier said than done for those that were on the receiving end of the 'bully boys' insults and abuse.
I gave as good as i got on occasion, however, one or two definitely overstepped the mark with their venom, aggression and bile.

Ultimately though they only made fools of themselves and that does make me smile.

Yep I agree with that.
