Saddest songs.

A lot of sad songs from the 80s and 90s (Tears in Heaven, Michael Bolton Daughter, Cat Steven’s, Dancing With My Father, etc)

Today’s music not so. But I’d go for Linkin Park’s One More Light.

In the kitchen, one more chair than we need

That line to me is very profound.

Here’s a live version upon tragic news of Chris Cornell’s (Soundgarden, AudioSlave) passing

Here’s a choir version dedicated to the passing of one of the choir’s members.

Chester Bennington (Linkin Park) is one of the new generation music industry’s big loss and in retrospect when listening to their songs from the last two albums they were very telling of a person that was in a tangled state of mind.

I see they have already been mentioned at least twice but The Cowboy Junkies must have wrote/performed more sad songs than anybody else out there.
As much as I love them and Margo, it's definitely music to slit your wrists to.
