Safe Standing permitted at all PL / Championship stadiums - now Wembley (P22)

we've never stopped standing in certain parts of the ground....both Etihad and Maine Rd.

Aways have always been standing in seats.....
Should never have banned it in the first place ........... once it was done right it was fine I mean nothing else happened after hillsborough did it ????? I mean every club at the top level still had standing areas years after the disaster without any incidents .......... or was it down to Euro 96 when clubs had to have it regardless

UEFA went all seated rule in 1998 so Euros 96 wouldn't have been affected.
All clubs had to change by end of 93 / 94 season which is when the Kippax went.

Thatcher had been humiliated in her defeat to bring in ID cards for football fans (remember Colin Moynihan?). After the miners, football fans were public enemy number 1.
The all seated rule was her way of evening that particular score up.

A cop with his own gravitational pull and gravy filled veins, compare Police behavior when dealing with football fans v Climate road blocking protesters or Chicken shop kiddie groomers

Sweden needed 4 x 20k all seater stadiums to host the Euros in 1992 as final and finals criteria are far more strict.

However it doesn't mean the stadiums can't use temporary seating as was used above and other stadiums. Lansdowne Road used temp seats for football until it was redeveloped, as the IRFU owners wanted standing and more money for the RU games.
