Re: Sagna

Would be a brilliant signing. Been back to his best at Arsenal for a while now after a dip a few seasons ago. Great shape, strong, quick and is a better crosser of the ball than Zabaleta. Also, Manuel clearly wants two good fullbacks to alternate every other game givens he running required of the position. Zab has performed miracles in light of this but needs to be rotated more if we are to get the years out of him.

Re: Sagna

Totally agree gives Zab a rest every now and then and also weakens Arsenal at the same time. All for free good bit of business , Micah needs to go always injured, if we get a fee for him it's a win win with FFP

Re: Sagna

Would be good to play 1/3 of the matches off Zab. I just hope he isn't permanently injured like Maicon.

Re: Sagna

would be an excellent signing would be able to rotate Zabba with Sagna no transfer fee only wages

I think it will be very similar rotating right back as it is in left back position with Clichy/Kolarov.

Thats pretty close to 50-50% in PL games.

I dont think we are ready to pay about 100k weekly wages to Sagna and a signing on fee amount to be a League cup player for us and play in some odd league games.
For that role we wouldnt need Sagna.

Agree with what you're saying but surely Zabba should be the priority

Well out of all the player I think Zaba's playing time will be lot less next season if this Sagna transfer comes off. But Zabaleta only played so much this year as we had a 90% injured Richards behind him.

I would say Zabba will be the PL regular starting about 25 games while Sagna will start most of cup games including CL games and around 10-15 league games. But he is a bit different in style/pace than Zab, also better in the air, so according to opponent it always can change, I dont think if both fit one starts 3-4 games in a row, they will be rotated pretty much...

Its unreal that Zabba played so many games this year, and on top of that now WC games too.

Re: Sagna

It could allow for scenarios in which we need to have a combative midfield where we could play a 4-2-3-1 with the 3 being Kolarov, Silva, Zaba.

Both excellent crossers and decent defenders.
