Nah you are right - nothing you say is incorrect nothing should be questioned - from now on I will adopt that mantra no matter what thread you post on and will urge other posters to respect your higher intellect - nothing that anyone else says is worth a fig and we should all just revel in your presence.

You are the messiah who's word cannot be questioned. Nobody every said there was a " let them all in brigade". Therefore nobody can say something to the contrary.

If you're talking about being at war, are you suggesting the whole population would be scrambling to leave? For one thing, I wouldn't be leaving the wife and kids to face whatever was happening . Many of these being picked up are Iranian males, what war is it that they're fleeing, and why flee across two continents to get here?No guilt trip, pal
Of course no-one has forced them(physically) but they have obviously weighted up the pros and cons and figured that risking their lives at sea is a better option than not doing - I cannot imagine any circumstances where I would do that so I am going to assume where they are coming from is pretty fucking awful
In addition. We are not being invaded, a few 100 people in little boats looking for a better life is hardly cause for bringing in the nave
Anyway, I will ask again - where would you run to and how would you get there?
They are economic migrants, and should be dealt with exactly the same as any other country deals with them.

I'd rather them not make the journey at all, those advocating differently are however encouraging them to take the risk of drowning. The proof in the pudding is how many people drowned trying to get to mainland Europe in the last 10 years after being told they could make the dangerous journey?
Either way, this is an opinion piece from an immigration lawyer who has a vested interest in seeing more people trying to do these things because he gets paid to help them and guess who foots his bill?

That is why we have an asylum process and for the Home Secretary to say they will be rejected before hearing them is out of order
Although I would like to agree with you re leaving the wife and kids. Let's say you have only one child. That is 3 places to pay for, 3 mouths to feed on a cross continent journey, with little/no money, no access to health care and no access to sympathy given some of the responses on this thread. It is a very dangerous trip, I'm not sure I would want to risk my partner and 2 years' life in a little boat. But hopefully I will never be in that position to make that sort of decision
Anyway, for get all that - regardless of who they are and where they come from, it is a couple of hundred. They are not invading us they are either a) looking for asylum or b) looking for work - hardly bad things, are they?
