Salford City programme!

Despite the rag angle it is a good fly on the wall insight into the reality of running a non-league football team.
They had a cracking start but it soon turned sour. The manager has just been given the boot and the team have no confidence.
I felt quite sorry for the partner of that player who has been suffering from depression. He was earning £9k a week when he was with Wigan and is now getting £300 for Salford...... and warming his arse on the bench. It must be a total mind fuck.
So 9K a week is 468K a year (how many years was he with them?)
Now he is getting the same wage I got (1,200 quid) per month when I left Blighty 4 years ago - playing part time (does he have another job?)
Whilst I get that is a huge step down, I haven't quite got the hankies out yet....

I thought that was piss funny when rag face found out that the club house watch him on sky on a dodgy box. :-]

Looking at his girlfriend (ex girlfriend?), there's gag to be made there, but I'll leave it at that!

Bet you d find out who your real friends were soon enough

I saw this advertised and thought it was another BBC Rag wank fest so gave it a wide berth, now having read some of the comments on here from what I consider to be relatively level headed sensible posters I may give it a quick look on Iplayer.

Watched the last 20 minutes, was quite interesting. Showed how different the personalities of the players are and how it turns very quickly on results.

The moment Jarrett found out he was sub and gave an excuse of an injury and had a touch line argument was funny. Was clear the league experience players did not adapt to the lower level.

Having seen the reviews I just watched it on iPlayer and it isn't the feared '92 wankfest but I agree with this - even if it was just the one season thats what? 10 - 20 years wages for most who were watching him?? I won't be feeling sorry for him - bet he was happy enough to spend it and not think the gravy train would ever end. For the rest of us mere mortals we have to make provision for our futures.
