Salford City

It seems the kit change is linked to a change of ownership, which apparently happened about six months ago. Neville ( G ) and Beckham are the only ex players left, along with a bunch of yanks who have effectively bought them out. Giggs, Neville ( P ) Butt and Beckham are no longer directors. Although Beckham does seem to still be invloved.

Daft little club who bring all to the party apart from the class of 92 bullshit ...............shit away allocation, shit away followings could name 20 or so other clubs who would bring a lot more to league 2 than these media whores

But they managed to bring 7 000 or so to Etihad.

Though they didn’t have far to travel, admittedly.

A bit like Gillingham, average gate 6,000 taking over 30,000 to Wembley.
I do get that but come on a game an hour away and they can only muster up 200 ............i bet the likes of Oldham,Bury and Rochdale would be pushing up to 600+ ..........Oldham tbf a lot more ............i simply dont get what Salford are about apart from certain folk using it as an ego trip

That’s exactly what it is.

And only that.

Oldham, Bury and Rochdale have all been established football league clubs for the vast majority of the last 100 years or more

Up until 10 years ago, Salford were an amateur/ semi pro team, never having played higher than The Northern Premier League Division one, Level 8 in the pyramid. They also happen to be based in a city, that traditionally has always had over 90% of its population supporting a successful Premier League team.

People moan about glory hunters jumping on bandwagons all the time, but then we're expecting a non league side to suddenly magic the same level of support as established league clubs out of the air, if they get a few promotions?
