Sam Allardyce

I doubt he will of forgotten but it makes me laugh the Hoddle shouts every time. He has been out the game so long, had a stint at QPR which was a car crash and whilst I take anything Joey Barton says with a pinch of salt apparently he described him as a dinosaur. Football changes and evolves and I doubt you would be at the top of your game after such a long absence. Oh and he's a fucking wank pundit.

Rinus Michels managed Holland to a World Cup final in 1974. He was out of the game for 10 years returning to manage the Dutch team that won the 1988 European Championships.

Joey Barton's one of those players who never achieved anything much in their own careers but have got plenty to say about those who did.

In terms of Bartons comments I already said it's taken with a pinch of salt. I am still of agreement though that he has spent too long out of the game, even more so when you hear his "analysis" and an example of 20 years ago won't change that for me.

So he'll have forgotten how to do it then? Is that really your point?
Well, no. My point was that if Redknapp can't think of even one reason why Hoddle mIght not be the ideal candidate, then he's a bit of a daft twat. It's not that difficult to understand.

Klinsman: not scarred, positive thinker, comfortable with the media.
Took Germany to the semi final in 2006, when they'd struggled in 2004. Also helped the USA overachieve in 2014

England footie is just a bit of a laugh so I hope they give it to a comedy candidate. Glenda would be perfect.

If we're going English then Big Sam is the only guy I'd be content with he isn't a yes man and nobody likes playing big sam teams.
But all things considered Klinsmann would be a great appointment although it would be weird/feel wrong having a German managing the England team.
Anyone but fucking Shearer and Rio

Manuel pelligrini. A title winning manager who plays attacking football. Why is nobody in the press talking about him?

Couldn't do worse than Tony Pulis. Usually gets a team of no hopers grafting. Won't be put off picking ordinary players to fit into a job. I'd rather see a team of grafters putting the effort in plus his tactics are stuck in the 1950s, which suits the FA.

Would he buy out the souvenir shop on this one though being Welsh?

Who do you think it should be?
Im just saying history tells us Hiddink while good at club level a few years ago but not recently has always been terrible at international level
Im not sure there is an answer maybe someone more forward thinking with a personality, as since Hoddle the appointments have been ancient fossil managers or useless Englishman

Shearer, Hoddle??

Fuck me we are so backwards when it come to football in this country its untrue.

Im awaiting some fucktard in the media coming out with Rooney as player/manager!
Are we really, Germany picked Klinsmann, Italy pick every ex player to be there manager at some point. Buffon will be in charge of the national team about 3 years after he retires. Brazil are the same. Shearer is fucking awful but to say picking untested old players or returning to old managers is not a English formed bit of thinking

He was great with Australia in 2006.

Yeah but Australias area isn't the strongest I mean they play teams that have 11 people on the island!
And in the WC which was what he was essentially brought in to do they won 1 game, drew 1 and lost 2. Aussies love him though as it was their first World Cup in 34 years

Germany, Italy and Brazil actually have world class players and win things.....

Shearer and Hoddle?

To be fair the losses were to Brazil and a heartbreaker to Italy. Should have beaten Croatia if not for Graham (3 yellow cards) Poll blowing up early as we were about to put the ball in the net.

But it was more the way we played that tournament. It was our first in a long while and to date our best.

Australia is in Asia now, so the game against island teams don't happen all that often. Not sure if we'd moved confederations back then though.

Beckham is the latest ex-player name according to one of the daily rags.

Surely if English it has to be Allardyce, and he'd sort the defence, although I'd prefer Klinsman who would bring the english football more up to date than that we've been subjected too since 1990.

There are no good candidates that are English, sad to say, so I would go for Klinsman. The guy knows world football having been around international football for many years.
