I've been advocating playing people for England in the same role they play for their club, for some time now, so I'm glad to hear BFS thinks the same (about Rooney, at least). They get into the team based on their club performances, so it makes little sense to then play them in a different role for England, especially when there might well be someone better suited to that role.
