Samir Nasri {merged}

Re: The final straw for Nasri

Thought Nasri played ok in the first half and very well in the second with great link up play, looked dangerous on attack and put in a shift coming back towards our own goal too.

Why the f*** he was in that position in the wall though is anyone's guess.

this is a bit knee jerk is it not, he wasn't that bad and i know the goal was his fault but im sure he'll be absolutely gutted like the rest of the team, abusing players and saying you've had enough isnt going to help is it

'He wasn't that bad'. Every match he plays is the same. 5/10 performance. He does nothing and is only a neat and tidy player. I've voiced my disdain over the past year about him and this performance was the last straw. He simply isn't good enough.

Re: The final straw for Nasri

Samir Nasri. He has his qualities, I will give him that, but his usage should be limited. Personally I think he should be more of a squad player. He should be started against mid/lower table teams, games that aren't as detrimental to our season as todays, and left on the bench for the big games. To me he just doesn't have the mental fortitude to play a key role in the big games. His show of cowardice in the game winning goal was just pathetic. I was seething with anger after I saw the highlight a few times. I wouldn't go as far as to say "sell the pr**k", but I will say that if someone better becomes available we should be all over them and keep Nasri, just limit him.

Now Balotelli. I'm definitely done with that guy. I will say sell him. I can't stand his attitude and his presence on the pitch, or lack thereof. He doesn't do anything at all. The difference in our team when Tevez replaced him was both insane and instantaneous.

Re: The final straw for Nasri

It is not difficult to work out why put his foot out, is it? He is not a defensive player, and he does n't have that side of his game, like Silva does.

The simple answer is don't put him in the wall, I can remember Cesc Fabregas raising his hand at a freekick on the edge of the box and conceding a penalty in his arsenal days. This player was never criticised the way Nasri has been, but he made if anything an even worse mistake.

Don't put attacking players in key defensive areas at set pieces, if you wan't to have one of the defefenders free to mark, or you want to exploit physical attributes i.e. dzeko's height then coach them not to make mistakes. If you can't coach it out of them, don't make them a liability and don't put them in the wall.

Re: The final straw for Nasri

Good player, zero heart.

Compare what it meant to Zabaleta and then you see Nasri turning his arse to the ball a few minutes later. I'd be fuming if I was in that dressing room.

I think we all want Balo out for a while, 13 app 1 goal is an awful return for a player that costs 24 mil. I would want us to buy Isco who, I believe is a better player than Nasri, Imagine if we had a player like Reus or Gotze in our team instead on Nasri.

Re: The final straw for Nasri

Nasri is a waste of space! Everybody is quick to have a go at Mario but Nasri just constantly slows play down holds the ball up then passes to the defence! He wanted to join the reds but we offered more wages

Re: The final straw for Nasri

Nasri has coasted through his City career so far. The master of the sideways pass, he rarely puts in a noticeable performance. His defensive workrate it appalling, and his inability to jump to contest an aerial ball proves he has no heart.

Compare him to Silva, although Silva isn't a great tackler, he attempts to tackle and win aerial balls. Occasionally he surprises us all with outstanding tackles and winning headers against taller players. Nasri just doesn't bother. For a player with so little to his game, you'd expect him to be immense on the ball, but he's not. He doesn't runs at players with conviction like he did in his Arsenal days.
