Samir Nasri

Re: Nasri

For me Nasri holds play up and wants to go around the same player again. I've only seen Nasri play well in a hand full of games. His ball retention is superb, but ball retention doesn't win games. I would like to see him be more direct like Spurs away and Newcastle away this year till he got injuried.

Re: Nasri

Nasri - fantastic footballer played out of his best position which is in the middle. This is where he was exceptional for Arsenal, making constant runs behind the defence and scoring a bagful of goals along the way, whilst Fabregas was out injured for the first half of that season. When Cesc returned, Nasri was played on the left and wasn't the same - a little bit like he is for us.

I like Nasri as a player and think some of the criticism of him is unfair - I even think his workrate is fine (not Milneresque levels but then again very few players are). I would like to see him try some more riskier passes, take a player on here and there (he is more than capable), rather than the "keep possession at all costs" approach he seems to prefer

Re: Nasri

His best position is in advanced central midfield. He links up brilliantly with Benzema there for France. He also played very well for us in one game at home last season in a deep lying play make role. He was next to Yaya (where Barry usually plays) and caused loads of problems.

He's played very well in many more than a handful of games and when he doesn't play you notice when he's not there as you're left frustrated with the amount of stray passes that go straight to the opposition.

That is what this is.

I notice players like Barry get left out of these discussions even though he's too slow and is a liability against midfields that are quick passing and quick running as he can't cope. This has applied in CL games against München, Napoli, Madrid, Dortmund and Ajax where he's looked out of his depth. But we seem to give him great support.

With Nasri, he seems to be underappreciated by City fans for his qualities and is spoken about by Blues like Barry is by the rest of the country.

Just take your pick, r.sole. Anyone in a sky blue shirt seems to be fair game. A bit of constructive criticism is fair enough but some posters get obsessed about a particular player.

We all have our favourites & players we rate less, which means across the range of fans, it is gonna cover most players. Sample on most clubs forums I reckon. I'm a big fan of Milner and Nasri but want rid of Rodwell and Garcia for example

As much as I love Barry, I agree 100%.

u probably mean support striker. we seriously need some production from him if any. otherwise he will be a massive waste of funds again that is part of the reason we will be above the FFP cap, another twatty buy from arse who won't even sulk when he's benched, smirking wryly with that fat 6-figure wad every week deposited in his fucking account

Re: Nasri

Nasri is better than Silva.

I said time would tell... Well as far as I'm concerned, time told yesterday. Apart from his early shot, he had one of his poorest games for us.

I love both players, but I rate Samir far more highly. David has struggled this season (two or three 'good' games?) - too much is expected of him, and he needs a break.

Samir should be given the freedom to run the show for the next three or four games at least.

I leave in peace...
