Do the stats say he is the best at ball retention out of interest.

Out of the midfielders, yes.

Nasri - 92%

Yaya Toure - 89%

David Silva - 86%

Carlos Tevez - 85%

James Milner - 78%

Thanks. There is an argument for there then. He does need more penetration though that he seemed to have at arsenal more frequently than with us.

Re: Nasri

IMO Nasri and Silva when in form and well protected unplayable, Nasri needs a kick up the arse now and again then he plays well. Players are motivated by different things. Garcia not the enforcer NDJ was so doesn't happen very often these days and Yaya's game limited too!

Re: Nasri

I think some people are being very harsh on Nasri.

The main reason that play appears to slow down when he gets the ball is due to the movement of the players around him plus he tends to receive the ball when opposing players are already around him usually when we have been too slow in moving the ball forward or a previous counter attack has been thwarted and we are still lingering around in the opposition half.

Silva is often in the same situation as Nasri but this tends to go unoticed as during the game he's our 'go to' guy for counter attacks and therefore regularly receives the ball in more space.

The only game I can recall where Nasri has been our 'go to' guy was Newcastle away and he was on fire.

Many are and won't stop now.

Rightly so not the player we were expecting to get. The biggest disappointment at the club at the moment.

I disagree. The biggest disappointments at the club at the mo are Carlos, Edin, and Sergio (not enough goals), Scott Sinclair (not enough talent) but biggest disappointment of all, the 'fans' who seem obsessed with hounding players out of the place.

Tevez, Dzeko and Aguero have produced goals and match winning performances on many occasions. Nasri is a fraction of the player he was at arsenal and nothing like the player that destroyed England when France won 2 nil. The disappointment is that I know he has the ability but he fails to produce it. It's unfair to compare to Sinclair as he cost 6million and Nasri cost 25 million no ones trying to hound any1 out of the club but we are entitled to ask for better levels of performance than we are getting now.

Literally the stupidest thing I have ever read on blue moon.

Fuck me. I can hardly believe I've just read it, and its comedy follow up about silva's current form.

I'm logging off. This place has been taken over by fucking imbeciles.

Really
I think this gem takes some beating

Been saying it for 12 months. The gap between the first choice full backs( Richards and clichy) and the second choice full backs (zab and kolorov) is huge. Zab is short of pace and offers nothing going forward. Decent bench player as a solid stop gap in several positions, but not good enough to keep starting. Hopefully the new lad will help.
And thats from this season

Well spotted Cookie.

Dismal Dave is about as bright as a Toc H lamp. A keyboard warrior without a clue. He is literally the stupidest poster on Bluemoon.

BTW...

Re: Nasri

It's really hard for me to say who are best player is because the candidates tend to play in very different positions with different roles. Is Kompany better than Yaya? Are either of them better than Aguero? Or Silva? It's hard to make that comparison because they do different things. I'm just happy our squad is so talented.

hahaha u should just stop watching football. It's not for u. Nasri offers nothing in our team. The only reason he has 92 percent accuracy in his passing is because he always passes to the man behind him. He never risks and try to breakdown the opposition defence like silva does ( hence the lower passing accuracy). Anyway i do thing samir is a good player but he is not a WINGER. He is so much better centrally. Mancini continues to annoy me with that. Can't he just see that especially in premier league where teams are more physical from other leagues teams rely very much on wingers who are fast good dribblers and good crossers of the ball ( like the rags, they are a worse team than us but this kind of play they play is more unpredictable and that's why they score more this season). We need a winger to open the play. We play too narrow and most games we are easy to defend. That's the job of a real winger, to open up the play and create more space for players like silva to play. Nasri doen't do that he wants to do the same as silva that's why they'll never play good together. A player like bale would thrive in our team (but he is too expensive). Bar that none of our strikers are world class except sergio now. So for me a winger and secondly a striker are needed right now in our team badly.
