Steven McInerney "Manchester City expert" admits has no idea who the guy is never seen him play now a few days go by and now gives the green light for a January transfer....I hope you're listening Txiki! Give me strength.

Little bit disingenous there as I've not 'given a green light' or anything. Obviously that article is a bit taken out of context. I also don't label myself an 'expert', clearly - I'd guess the website do just for SEO reasons, but there's not much I can do about that.

I admitted that he's a new name to me in the video chat too, but what I have seen of him since the link and heard is the following etc etc. It isn't that deep fella. Just me doing a bit of research for a video chat about City's transfers and then saying I don't mind the idea of a younger player with potential coming in. Hardly said this is the transfer and if we don't do it Txiki should be sacked.

I don't think there's anything wrong with not knowing anything about a player, wondering what more informed people think, then doing your own research and reading up a player after, before finally summarising what you've found out about him so far. It's the internet in 2024, it's quite easy to get up to speed.

I guess that’s how scouting works.

Discover player exists.
Glean info on him.
Ask others for their opinions on him.
Watch games and montages of him.
Form opinion.

Most fans do this, it’s just that Steven has a channel that he needs interactions from people who have their opinion on his, just like you have here.

Just want to clarify that I ever ask a question on twitter like that, it's because im being honest and would like to know people's opinions. I'm not baiting people, not farming engagement or whatever. I'm 39 years old, I'm too old for that shit. I know there's a reputation that follows 'content creators' around that everything is dishonest or some ruse and we're all just money hungry attention seeking pricks (and I don't doubt that many are like that as ive met a fair few!), but some of us are genuinely just normal people who just like to talk about the things we like with people. I naturally just want to chat about football with other fans and like-minded people. I think the fact that I've used this forum for over 15 years and have thousands of posts proves that. I just like conversations around football - it just so happens it turned into something of a job for me. That doesn't make me any different to the person I was beforehand, I'm just lucky and it sorta happened by accident.

You are a good egg Stephen, you have put in lots of work and took some risks to get where you are. I've been subscribed since bluemoonrisingTV and you deserve every bit of your minor celebrity status for the time and effort you have put in building a platform from the ground up. You don't have to come on here to justify yourself to people!
