More often I finished with no studs. Had I bothered to look round the fields I played on I'd have found a dozen studs scattered about. It's a wonder some players weren't ripped to shreds with nails poking out of the sole of the boot!I had a pair of those boots. The studs were nailed on and when they wore down the nails poked through the sole. Often finished games with bloodied feet.
