He still ranks 1st for midfielders in duals won and progressive passes this season (along with almost every other relative statistic) while not being up to peak fitness. We don't need to pretend he's just another player because of his Madrid comments.

Statistically he’s right at the top for PL defensive midfielder qualities like tackles won, interceptions and pass accuracy. Though he’d likely cost a tad more than Anderson. Both decent though Tonali shades it numbers-wise.
