Sane leaves German squad/Congratulations Leroy! (p13)

Not convinced to be honest. Expecting a child is no doubt a wonderful thing, but I doubt it makes you lazy. If David Silva can still turn up and run rings round everyone, in his situation, then I’m sure Sané can find it within himself to make an effort on the pitch. The majority of our squad are fathers. Sané’s just lacking the attitude required to reach the very top of his profession. That’s the top and bottom of his current situation at City.

Shame upon you, you heathen.

Young man, soon to be dad, feelings and emotions up in the air, Not sure I would be concentrating on my everyday stuff. Deserves a bit/lot of slack.

Good luck to the Sanes. Not having a go and not necessarily his fault but his professional life has taken a significant dip over the last 4 months, hope this can be a turning point
He was unfairly dropped by Germany for the World Cup. They did shite and Lowe admits his mistake. He hasn’t started well but the whole team has not been at it either. Then comes the news his missus is about to give birth. That can be a lot to deal with for a young lad. I am sure he will be back to his best very soon

I am a bit surprised he appears to have been hung out to dry a bit in interviews and stuff, apparently for his attitude, when it turns out his partner is expecting a baby. Why?

He was not unfairly dropped from the German team. He was shit in the chances he became for Germany and therefore was not in question for a starting place. The question then was just if Löw takes Brandt or Sane with him. Brandt showed a lot more eagerness etc. - and was already left out for the Euros 2016. (and from the four guys that were cut 2 already were from Leverkusen - if he would have cut Brandt instead of Sane he would have cut all Leverkusen players)

Löw took four players for the wings - Müller who functioned great with Kimmich and had 5 goals and 7 assists in the qualifiers, Reus who missed out the recent 2 tournaments because of injuries, Draxler his captian during the ConfedCup and Brandt.

If somebody was left at home unfairly it was Sandro Wagner who even joined Bayern in January to have better chances. He functioned in all matches he played as striker, was great in a substitute role either for Germany and for Bayern - playing exactly the role we needed together with the same players who play for Germany. He had 3 assists from Müller and 2 of Kimmich for his goals at Bayern... Instead he took Gomez and Petersen (and for the tournament only Gomez was left).

Sorry pal, but I'm not having that - every person is different and the anxiety before becoming a parent for the first time can be a struggle for some - others it doesn't bother. Never really phased me, but my wife found it harder. Does that mean I'm better than her? No.

Same as lazy comparisons with sane and Silva (or any other person/player).

What a load of bollocks.

I’ve heard several UK based journalists who are experts in German football who say there was no outcry about Sané not being selected by German public, because they are completely ignorant to the Premier League and therefore ignorant to just how good Sané was last season.

He was probably the third best player in the best team in the history of English football last season. City were far better than Bayern or any other German club last season, and it wasn’t even close.

The UK press and public was absolutely stunned he’d not been selected. It was a similar reaction than if France didn’t select Mbappe or England didn’t take Harry Kane.

Just because he’s had a couple of average qualifying games is irrelevant. Barring possibly Toni Kroos, Sané was the best German player in the world last season. They should be building the team around him, not debating whether he makes the squad.

The German national team seems to be stuck 4 years in the past, which would explain why Ozil was considered a key player until after this world cup. He’s been absolutely shite for about 3 years. But if you lot took any notice of the Premier League where he plays every week, you’d know that.

Brandt, to be fair, looked tidier and just as dynamic as Leroy. Louwe probably chose correctly

You seem to know far more than me about the situation. However the something i saw missing in Germany's world cup was the lack of pace and ability to go past a man.
Whether Sane had impressed in the few games before the world cup or not he had shown enough during the season to show he has both these qualities. I am pretty sure if Lowe had the chance again he would take him.
