He was not unfairly dropped from the German team. He was shit in the chances he became for Germany and therefore was not in question for a starting place. The question then was just if Löw takes Brandt or Sane with him. Brandt showed a lot more eagerness etc. - and was already left out for the Euros 2016. (and from the four guys that were cut 2 already were from Leverkusen - if he would have cut Brandt instead of Sane he would have cut all Leverkusen players)

Löw took four players for the wings - Müller who functioned great with Kimmich and had 5 goals and 7 assists in the qualifiers, Reus who missed out the recent 2 tournaments because of injuries, Draxler his captian during the ConfedCup and Brandt.

If somebody was left at home unfairly it was Sandro Wagner who even joined Bayern in January to have better chances. He functioned in all matches he played as striker, was great in a substitute role either for Germany and for Bayern - playing exactly the role we needed together with the same players who play for Germany. He had 3 assists from Müller and 2 of Kimmich for his goals at Bayern... Instead he took Gomez and Petersen (and for the tournament only Gomez was left).

It isn't about fairness. You don't leave a player that had Sane's stats from a season at home. You were always going to dominate possession and you took too many players of a similar creative style and lacked pace. However, if attitude was also an issue then it was a fair decision. In hindsight we could have done with him instead of Mahrez to perform against Newcastle but again if his attitude is do fuck all in training but start on the weekend he needs a further slap. Pep would have expected him to step up after WC omission. The fact he hasn't is a worry. But at his age things like this happen. He will sort it out. The birth of a child might be at just the right time.

Are you saying David Silva's son Mateo was due in May but born in December??? Wow, if true, that's incredible!
(Edit: just checked myself, Mateo born at 25 weeks just before Christmas, full term would be 40 weeks or another 3 and 3/4 months therefore due in April? still Incredible, he made it!)

Pep is just getting Mahrez bedded in early doors, we can't play Sterling/Mahrez/Sane all at once unless it's kitchen sink time. Gives Sane some time to adjust to fatherhood too, not heard any talk about being unhappy at small game time so far.

Is it just me or are our players generally more private than a lot of their fellow footballers?

I'm not complaining, I quite like it and they deserve a private life, just wondered if it's something the club suggest or if it's just a coincidence.

One of the reports I read, slating Sané, mentioned in passing that his girlfriend was soon to give birth & also that she is in the middle of moving over here, so there is a lot going on in his life.

So in this case the press knew about it but haven't had enough space to fit it in whilst slagging his attitude.

Don't think this can be resolved quickly, we have the best Manager and back room team to help Leroy in what is an obviously difficult time for him. Give the lad time and backing and I'm sure we will see him return firing when he's fully ready. BTW, some of those birth stories had me laughing, so unnecessarily graphic but funny.

I am a bit surprised he appears to have been hung out to dry a bit in interviews and stuff, apparently for his attitude, when it turns out his partner is expecting a baby. Why?

Yes it's as if some people, including some so-called City fans on here, can't wait to stick the boot in. Perhaps they have got bored with bullying Raheem and need another scapegoat. Whatever has upset Leroy I trust Pep to manage it well. Some of the coverage and the comments by Kroos have been disgusting.
