I would say ignore him, but that encourages acceptance of his attitude. The concept of woman enjoying herself purely on her own terms is I think alien to a lot of men.

This thread is also instructive; you post about a woman using a treadmill because she is anxious, we then have men joking about her not being able to run faster than an attacker.

We go from horror at the Everard case, to then subtly undermining a woman’s fears about being attacked.

You can see underlying attitudes playing out in real time.

Violence against women is the real story. As in every walk of life there are serious numbers of nasty men, not just in the police. There’s no doubt they need to be held to a higher standard though.

The poor woman teacher who was beaten to death a couple of weeks ago is just as dead as Sarah. She’s dead because she was a woman. No other reason.
