Criminal conspiracy with intent to cause GBH or murder in a public office, they should be on the other side of the bars.

It’s not for the screws to have an active role in handing out punishment we have outlawed, no matter who the nonce or alleged nonce is.

Yeah but whilst this thread is about a murder committed after rape I wasn't talking about murder.

How often are men approached on the street or public transport by someone they don't know?

What is the profile of people who are likely to do that?

Beggars, people offering them drugs or stolen goods or muggers maybe of the people with suspicious or malicious intent. Have you ever met a creepy guy sexually harassing you on the street?

I've been threatened with a blunt instrument after dark whilst walking in a residential area (in a case of mistaken identity) which made me a bit uneasy walking at night but I never thought I was likely to be sexually assaulted or raped.

Men are more likely to be involved with violent crimes and crime as a vocation, I'm not surprised that more men are murdered .

I suppose it comes down to how you personally see the police. If you assume it's some sort of old boys club for rapists then absolutely. In my own naïve little way I still think the vast majority of coppers are good eggs and trustworthy, although I realise that some folk think we live in some alt-right hell of populist racist politicians aided and abetted by heavy handed rapey police all controlled by Farage and Trump from some bond-villian style lair.
