Prefer pilchards

Take a tin of anchovies empty them and their oil into a pan and very gently heat, stirring to break them up.
Add three cloves of garlic, crushed.
Continue gently heating to cook but not colour the garlic.
Meanwhile drain a tin of cannellini beans.
Add to the pan and stir to heat through.
Add 1 tablespoon of water and season.
Take off the heat and mash.

Serve thickly spread on hot buttered thick toast.

I had Arbroath kippers on tomato sourdough toast this morning. Fcukin lovely!
They stink the place out a bit but are worth it.

Anyone tried the Nordic dish 'Lutefisk' Norwegian or 'lutfisk' in Swedish. I've had it twice in Sweden when I lived there. Never touching the stuff again. Hangin !
