Sarri sacked by Juventus

Don’t shoot the messenger, but don’t rule Pep out, especially if we win the CL. A certain Silly BBC sports correspondent has been talking privately about Pep leaving, lots of chatter that Poch is already lined up to step in.

that’s the gossip, personally I’d be surprised and hope it’s all b/s

Shows the quality of the league when you can win the title and get sacked for a poor season. They won’t attract a top manager from abroad or another club, there’s nothing to gain from going there, you can’t succeed, you can only fail or meet ridiculous expectations by winning everything. They’ll appoint from within their league.

Sixteen managers since the mid-1970s and all have been Italian, save for Deschamps, whose win percentage was ironically the highest of the lot.

Zero chance.

Harsh. Juve haven’t exactly excelled in the league despite winning it but the players are more problematic than the manager here.

Very average and slow midfield. Defense is average as well, Cuadrado a winger playing RB, keeping Danilo out of the team. Bonucci past it at 33. Sandro and De ligt, nothing special either.

then in attack, dependent on a 35 year old Ronaldo, with Higuain leading the line, years past him prime. Dybala is a classic number 10, no team plays with a system that fits him. He’s not a winger nor a number 8.

they need significant investment if they want to win the Champions League. The players simply aren’t good enough even.
Do you rate de ligt or is he overated ? . At Ajax he was quality but was that just because of the surrounding players .

‘Player power’ has always been around but at least once upon a time it took a hardcore group to get rid of a manger, eg Leeds and Clough. Nowadays, like you say, one superstar can pretty much call the shots
City’s players got rid of Ron Saunders.
