Saudi Pro League

If they really go for it and are able to sustain the transfer fees and wages, then they may overtake all the european leagues in about 10 yrs. I do, however, see europan clubs continuing to only allow players near the end of their careers move to that league (uefa cartel).
At some stage the power base in football is going to shift away from the premier league. I just cannot see it being there.
Not a chance, there’s fuck all on offer in Saudi and the heat is oppressive from late March u til early November. Doubt the wags would like it there, it’ll fade quicker than a Welsh Newsreaders career at the BBC.

I'm starting to think they are legitimate threat to the Premier League now...

The spending hasn't eased up and this is just the start of it. If they can get tv deals they will be a huge threat and buy their way into UEFA.

I’m not keeping right on top of it. Who have they signed up who could be considered to be even vaguely still in the peak of their career?

Didn't the Chinese league do something similar a few years ago? Chinese clubs bought Oscar from Chelsea, a few decent players from Atletico Madrid. Looking at the stats of these players when they played in China it's obvious they went there for a big payday. I reckon the same will happen with the Saudi league. No one will take it seriously and no one ultimately gives a fuck about any of the teams, other than cringey 'CR7' fan boys
