Not because it is taking action against a hardcore racist - it isn't and I doubt he is.
However, it goes into some detail and shows up nicely the sort of "It wasn't me", deny it at all costs culture in football (and in society in general really).
The likes of Dalglish and Ferguson live their lives by the pathetic mantra of 'it's not my fault'.
The statements made by Suarez and LFC here highlight that attitude quite nicely and this no doubt go some way towards explaining the displeasure of the FA.
Instead of holding his hands up, Suarez and several people have reviewed and refined their 'evidence' after intial statements/descriptions. All in the name of wriggling out of something.
Let's not forget. He is not convicted of being a racist. His is not definitely convicted of using a racist insult. He is convicted of using an insult that makes reference to race.
Instead of holding his hands up to the charge (something that might have earned some leniency and, although the action is not nice or something that most of us would ever consider doing, is, I suppose, somewhat understandable in the heat of the moment) as any man of honour would, his only concerned is getting out of it. In whatever way he can.
Dirk Kuyt particularly comes out of that report as a bullshitter.
Not accepting personal responsibility is a disease in both football and society and I can't stand it. For that reason I am happy to see him get everything he has.
They should have made him hold his hands up, simple and perhaps saved some face.
Instead they wore these ridiculous t-shirts and come up with the most ridiculous defence 'he didn't say it' and 'if but if he did say it, 'it was out of context' a fucking joke!!
Like I said earlier, Glen Johnson must feel like he's been stitched up good and proper! But that what he gets for blindly sticking up for people when he obviously doesn't know the whole story
