Save Our Ruben Interim

That's the spirit Andy.
To many people post in this thread not quite getting were trying to Save our Ruben.
At this stage in the season he's doing a great job.
How many previous season have the Rags had negative goal difference.
Not with our Ruben this season there not.
And add to that injuries and international games have took his best players off him.
In Ruben we trust
Stick to the plan.
Ruben has got them a positive goal difference? I didn’t realise that. What more do they want ffs? The man is clearly a genius getting a tune out of that shower of shit

Wasn't there rumours that Vianna (Sporting Lisbon as well), was hoping to sign him if/when Pep leaves ?
The next manager to take over form Pep won’t be just Hugo’s decision Amorim was talked about amoungst a cast of thousands as a bright young coach who might be on the list but around the same time as Hugo was recruited by City

Just been reading the Ruben thread on Red Cafe - overwhelming desire to get rid of him and his defensive tactics.

Even the Post match thread is full of "get rid of him" comments.

But the biggest laugh was one clown stating they are good enough for 4/5th and even as high as 3rd !!!!

Their squad was awful for years. Amorim can only work with the squad he has. They need a lot of good sensible signings. They need patience but let's hope they give into their immediate urges as usual and feck themselves up again and again and again.

how much has he spent?

I think their recent spends have been on ok - players like Cunha, Mbeumo, Sesko, Lammens. They just need a lot more and an acceptance that even by signing this level of player you end up about 6thish. But you build a basis so that suddenly the signings of the big money top shelf players start making a massive difference and turn you into title contenders fast.

Instead they moan about their inevitable inconsistent results and claimer to replace their manager. If they do I'd be delighted.

If you don't count Mondays
They haven't lost midweek since Grimsby and that's impressive.
It's been weeks since they had a negative goal difference.
Ruben should be given a extended contract he's a perfect fit at the swamp.
This.
And I read somewhere that rags had 91% passing accuracy!!
Impressive stuff at home to mighty wolves.
Ruben MUST stay..

As a "supposed very good young coach" he should have realised after his first couple of matches that he couldn't put square pegs (players) into round holes (system) requiring him to change his single-minded tactical approach to one that suited the squad's abilities.

It's not a plan it's a process. Please do keep up.

Maybe but maybe he realized that even if he got results with the squad he had it'd only delay his long term plans in terms of instilling a way of playing and figuring out who suited it or not?

I'm happy for him to turn out shit but my instincts are that he is going the right direction.

(PS I hold Pep to much higher standards because he has been in place a lot longer and has an amazing squad already and has built a lot of success already. Hestill baffles me sometimes though.)

Always odd results at Christmas. Ruben has led them to striking distance of 8th. The anticipated return of three at the back will solidify a mid table spot.

Any point's a good point and top half stability half-way through the season is perfectly OK when you look at where Ruben's recovering from - 15th last season. It can't be easy when you're missing your superstars like Mount, Mbueno, Amad and Fernandes; add the defensive superstars - Maguire and De Ligt - to the missing and you've got a team with "Top Ten" ish written all over it.

Stick to the plan lads - in Ruben we always trust.

No team in the history of the premier league has ever faced a team on December 30th who are trying to beat the “same points as a triangle” jibe. Everyone involved must be delighted with that hard fought point. Wolves, as they now have the same points as a square and united because they didn’t lose to a team with the same points as a triangle.
Well done Ruben, stick with the project.

Geometry not your strong point, no?
