savic watch

I wouldn't be surprised to see Zabaleta taking the place of Yaya in a defensive midfield role during the African Cup of Nations or at least as back-up to Nigel, Bazza and Jimmy. Savic has now shown that he can be back-up as a right back as well as a centre half. All good news for me.

much better display than against QPR or arsenal, but he does still seem a tad uncertain when on the ball

Reminds me a bit of David Luiz at Chelsea. Reads the game well especially for a young lad and looks composed on the ball, but is capable of doing something completely daft. Hopefully we can get those mistakes out of him, then we'll have a top defender.

Shaky first 20 minutes.

Did well after, looks so cool and comfortable with the ball at his feet. but for some reasons at times he gives silly passes and his decision making is poor.

I have hope for the lad though, personally i'd like to see him loaned out for a good challenge rather than him sat on our bench.

i know what you mean about him getting experience out on loan, but i think he will learn much much more about being a top quaility centre back by training every day with the likes of balo, sergio and dzeko and playing in the europa league and fa cup with the odd prem game...much more useful than going down a division to play every week against sub-standard strikers. just my opinion.

the levels of concentration and tactical awareness required to confront silva and nasri in training are somthing he would struggle to match elsewhere.

Nice snippet in the Guardian about his reaction to what Kolo allegedly said
