It was Pep's decision & Pep's decision alone to go again & again with the bulk of his treble squad. He admitted he was offered the opportunity to start our rebuild but declined, & Khaldoon confirmed as much in his post season address.I’d say after the treble and having pep as manager we were world class maybe it’s the uncertainty of when pep will pack it in,the 115 charges or the club just trying to be smart and do things on the cheap im
Not sure

The squad situation we're in has nothing to do with uncertainty over Pep, the 115 or City trying to be smart. However, it might have something to do with Pep actually planning to leave this summer & wanting to leave the squad rebuild to his successor.
In that respect, the spotlight falls on Txiki as DoF, whose role it was to ensure there's continuity with our playing ethos & squad, irrespective of who the coach was. Something has gone very very wrong since the treble.
Right.And I know for a fact
We tinkered around the edges & didn't sign replacements of similar or better quality & not enough of them.only there was a rebuild, We signed 4 players and spent close to £200m
All of whom have largely stank the gaff out relative to what came before.
There was no rebuild on account of the rebuild falling flat on its arse, is what they’d like you to believe.
Don’t fall for the PR, they tried and failed as they did again in Jan, and as it stands probably this summer as well.
Lol. Any list that has a past it Son, Garnacho and Madueke on it is about as useful as bog roll made out of extremely thin tissue paper, because those 3 are fucking wank.I dunno Big Yaya this list seems pretty solid
If i had a player whose biggest statistical comparable were Yamal, Vinicius, Son, Kvara and Wirtz I'd keep him.

What purpose does that serve other than limiting your options? It makes no sense unless you are unconfident in your ability to negotiate and wind up on the better side of a deal
Time will tell NQ!I dunno Big Yaya this list seems pretty solid

The rebuild hasn’t even really started since those players we bought for the new era don’t start or are all loaned out. Until Khusanov starts it’s not a rebuild for me. Our defense isn’t working and the same players are leading it. Same as the LB position in the last years now it’s the RB position which we don’t care about. We tinkered around the edges & didn't sign replacements of similar or better quality & not enough of them.
Our rebuild only started in earnest in January 2025. We held on far too long onto our ageing & injury-prone treble stars who grew old together, & most importantly, we never signed competition & cover for Rodri.
We were/are a world class team the rebuild doesn’t start until we start signing world class players. We seem to be always looking for players with a low buy out clause or players around the 50/60m mark. Instead of buy 5/6 players over two transfers window spend the same money on 2/3 world class players. The rebuild hasn’t even really started since those players we bought for the new era don’t start or are all loaned out. Glad he's staying, think his ceiling is so high if he's just trusted
Not going to write off a 21 year old who hit 8 assists in his debut season when we were at our very worst
Hope we play him off the left where he's looked better and where he's been best to get the most out of Haaland
Dont get me wrong I'm 100% with you on the absolute mess we have made of the transfer windows since then.We tinkered around the edges & didn't sign replacements of similar or better quality & not enough of them.

Agree - Txiki moving on is one of the biggest opportunities we have. He was great for a long period of time and put some great structures in place but in the last 4 years our only good transfer business has been youth sales. Aside from Alvarez was great business and Gvardiol is good but nothing an 80m defender shouldn’t be. We/he dropped off and we have regressed from the stand out club and squad to now being part of the pack. Liverpool and Arsenal have caught/overtook us with others closing the gap. Largely due to our failings in the market. It was Pep's decision & Pep's decision alone to go again & again with the bulk of his treble squad. Both wingers have to step up this season. Compared to what we used to have on the wings, which I think a few fans took for granted, Savinho and Doku are levels below Mahrez , Sterling and Sane.
