Savinho

Thinking out loud here ... PSV is the same club that kinda futzed around with the Zinchenko loan. Watching Savio's stint there, I always got the feeling that PSV was trying to pull a fast one and steal him from City. They warmly embraced him, charmed him, yet hid him away and worked on getting a buy-out tacked on to his loan deal - always the vibe I had.

Now that he's evidently been shown the door I notice one of the big PSV fan presences on twitter saying this, "PSV spent weeks / months trying to finalize the Savio rental deal. Especially the correct paperwork was complicated by the City group constructions. The result is that he has participated in about 25 youth World Cups for Brazil and was otherwise only injured at PSV." ... which sorta backs up the vibe I was getting, that PSV was trying to pull a fast one and the leak to their fans is instead that the failure to land him was CFG's complicated structure and not that City sussed them out and didn't fall for their con.

His PSV loan wasn't a total wheel-spin tho, at the U20 WC he showed obvious improvement in stamina, quickness, speed and defensive responsibility. PSV were getting results from their training and guidance. Really important that he gets an honest regular role at a decent side next season and not another stalling action.

Rant is sorta prompted by fresh pics showing up on instagram of him getting on a plane in Brazil with his agent to pursue the next step.

would palermo be an option ? surely there must be interest from a cfg club
No idea, all the work permit stuff confuses me. If Troyes will give him starts might as well play there since both lower leagues. Shrug, IDK ... been wondering if he'll go on the tour with City - is that allowed under the rules since technically he's a Troyes player? Maybe he's gonna start camp with Troyes soon just to workout while his agent works the phones. Maybe another Dutch club who is familar with him wants to give him the keys to their RW slot. Is the simple 'Girona FC' the obvious answer?

One thing to consider ... there was this Israeli kid at the U20 WC named Dor David Turgeman. He was DOMINANT in Argentina against that level of competition - helped them to a third place finish. He's also playing in the U21s for Israel in the current Euros. Not nearly as dominant-looking with the U21s. He's fine, but entirely different level of competition. So despite Savio looking dominant against the U20s, he might be rightly judged to be a project for a proper European side with aspirations to improve. Somebody needs to take a risk on him maybe. Think the Italian article linked above shows the sharks are out trying to get him off City for cheap.

Savinho and Yan Couto are currently in Manc readying for preseason at the CFA - never heard of Palermo's Renzo Orihuelo but he is, too
"Renzo Miguel Orihuela Barcos is a Uruguayan professional footballer who plays as a defender for Serie B club Palermo, on loan from Montevideo City Torque." from Wiki.

Right footed CB, can't say I've even seen his name before.

Translating another report re: PSV ...

PSV has reported to Manchester City for the rental of Sávio, Fabrizio Romano reports. According to the transfer market expert, a total of four clubs are interested in the temporary arrival of the attacker, who already came out on a rental basis for the Eindhoven club last season. In addition to PSV, Girona also has a concrete interest, while AS Roma and SC Braga have an exploratory interest for the time being.

Journalist Rik Elfrink acknowledges on Saturday that PSV is busy behind the scenes with the arrival of Sávio. “The club actually did not want to continue with the Brazilian attacker, but after the arrival of Peter Bosz, it did again”, the journalist from the Eindhovens Dagblad agrees. Sávio settled down at PSV last summer, which took him over from Manchester City via a rental construction.
