Savio | Joins City

Agree on him being a talent but it’s a bit hyperbolic to say he carried them to the champs league. He had 9G 11A in their La Liga campaign

It was a collective effort from that Girona team. Not to diminish what he achieved but I think you’re being OTT.

I’m undecided and need to see more of him. I did see him live at a Girona game last season and I thought there was no way he was ready to play for us.

If we had to pay for him he'd be an 85 million pound player and no one would be talking about getting cup games... Cup games? This man would be playing the the Champions league if he stayed where he was.
We are paying for him

He’s a talent for sure but has things to work on, same with Doku. Regardless, both exciting for sure.

Also, I want to see Bobb get more game time. Really think he has what it takes to play at City.

I think the fact we got Savio at a young age makes many underrate him.

Dude is in Brazil's best 18. Let's stop acting like he is some novice. He has a higher pedigree of competition than Doku did when Doku joined us.

I'm not the biggest Savio fan, but he is a legit full time top player. Dude carried a mid table team to the Champions League.

View him like you'd view Doku, Torres or Alvarez when they joined.

He is a bonafide 1st teamer and a threat to own that right-wing. Let's not get this twisted.
Agree with most of this.

He's knocking on the door for Brazil's first 11 and only just turned 20.

The kid is a baller and is ready to play in our team.

Savio and Bobb, at present, are nowhere near Palmer level.
Well, neither have performed at Palmer's level. But 2 season's ago, neither had Palmer. Hence why I said they are exactly where Palmer was 2 years ago.

Id even suggest Savio is far better than where Palmer was 2 years ago. He has actually played at a high level consistently and already is good enough to make his national team.

Palmer wasn't that last summer. Whether they can do what Palmer did would require opportunity. It's what Palmer got at Chelsea. We already know Savio is good enough to help carry a mid table team to the Champions league. A very good sign for any young player. Even Palmer couldn't accomplish that.

So I won't underrate Savio here. I might think Palmer is better, but they are similarly talented.

Only a bit though :) Ler me put it differently, he has more cache than Fertan Torres when Torres joined us. And no one was saying Torres should be getting Cup games.

Scored Brasil’s second in the Copa America. Deflected shot into his path in the box which he calmly slotted in the net.

Started Brazil's 1st 2 games in the copa america & just bagged his first goal.....reckon he's give up knockin & just kicked the bastard off its hinges!

He didn't start against Costa Rica but it was only a matter of time before he overtook Raphihna who started last game.

Besides the goal, he was pretty average. On the eye test at least. Dribbles didn’t come off. Couldn’t get his shots off. Was on the periphery of the game for the most part. Still young and has loads to improve. Watching his development will be interesting

I think he has things to offer the squad for sure. He's a young talent but I think he's got something we don't have: an option on the right

As Foden drifts inward more, our real RW option has become Bernardo. And I love Bernardo. He's an important piece of the team. But his versatility is what I like the most about him. He can play a multitude of roles. He knows what pep wants.

I think his best traits are inside too. He does not have the athleticism to beat his man from the right side. He's a wizard with the ball at his feet but that won't always work.

The percentage possessions where the ball got rotated to doku who then took his man on vs the low blocks absolutely dwarfed that of on the right side. We did not have the option to initiate much on the right side of the pitch. Bernardo holds with width and occupys the space well. There is a certain dynamic he brings but also one he doesn't.

I think RW is as important, if not more important, than a DM type. We need someone to spell Rodri, but we really need someone who can take someone on from the right. Give us another dimension. Occupy different spaces. Change the pace.

Savio might be that guy. He certainly brings a different dimension. I am really not sure who else out on the market is approachable for the right side. I sense a bit of trepidation among the fans over Savio's credentials. Successful season, sure. Large contributer to Girona's CL bound season.

Getting significant minutes for Brazil at 20. They have multiple talented RW players like Rodrygo and Raphina, and he's still getting significant time. That says a lot imo.

I think he's also an option for both the right and left.

Like comparing your current girlfriend to an ex who didn't want to be with you anymore, you torture yourself over the past when a bright future awaits. Nobody knows how Cole would have done if he stayed, but he is GONE. He's dancing with a rival, and didn't want to stay with you...LET IT GO!

I think Oscar has as high a ceiling as any of them, and I hope he gets the chance, but to have Doku, Savio, Oscar Bobb, Claudio Echeverri, Rico Lewis, and Phil Foden as the creative young setup of our team should set any City fan's pulse racing. The future could be well and truly golden. The potential is HUGE!

Pep must have called the Brazilian bench. They've pulled both City players :) Savio and Bruno
