AFC Wimbledon confirmed survival in League one tonight, 3 days after Mickey Mouse Dons were relegated to League two. Happy fucking days.
 
So will Rochdale or Oldham join Bury, McDons and Northampton in the real 4th division?
It will be quite amusing if MKD drop to the Conference as the locals never showed any interest in the many non-league teams in the area before Wimbledon were parachuted in.
Those who feel we should let bygones be bygones point to the fact that local kids support MKD rather than the rags, Dippers and the London clubs their parents support, but the whole episode still leaves a bad taste in the mouth.
 
Great stuff. I honestly think that football clubs should be some sort of protected cultural entity. In the same way that you can't buy a listed building and do anything you want to it, you shouldn't be able to buy a football club and just move it to a different city or change the colours of the shirt or the name like happened to Cardiff and (almost) Hull.

I'm really happy for them. What happened to Wimbledon was a travesty.

Upside for footy fans in Buckinghamshire is they can devote more time to the things they really love, like shagging concrete cows and driving round roundabouts.
