Players from every nation can play for many countries, it's a pick and mix. It's why I don't really care about international football it should just be called "Raise my profile by any means necessary" competitions.
Everyone’s got a different idea about what would be best.
Unless you’re going down the old Yorkshire cricket route of if you weren’t born there, you’re out. Then there’s got to be some sort of rules.
Personally, I think qualifying through a parent and some sort of residency rule would be fairest.
It wouldn’t feel right to me that people like John Barnes and Raheem Sterling, who moved here permanently as children didn’t qualify for England. But you could argue all day about the specific wording.
Of course it’s even more complicated in Britain as we uniquely have four different FAs for each of the home nations all within one country.
