What about when they get injured?
 
We will sign someone better than Parker as cover IMO. We might still get nasri and probably another midfield player as well.

How much cover do you want ?

It's pointless signing players for 1 or 2 seasons who are not really good enough even for that time frame. I would have thought signings like Bellamy, bridge and rsc would have shown this ?
 
1. People are making too much of Vieira's number of appearances last year. A decent proportion of that was the last 10 mins purely for his aerial prowess. Against Stoke for example. Statistically he was by far our most effective player in the air. So in this respect Parker is not a replacement.

2. Ok we might look a bit short in CM, but the player we are missing is a creator. Someone a bit different to what we've already got, like Lucho Gonzalez or a Xabi Alonso type player. Not another James Milner.

3. Having said all that, on loan for a year he would be a reasonable signing as cover. Especially considering the ACN is in Jan
