Scott Parker

im sure sullivan was on sky sports 2 - 3 weeks agao stating that he would let parker go on loan, it doesn't have to be a full transfer.

Yeah, but that won't apply to us - he'll probably want 15mil.

No chance!!! We already have better who don't start games!! No need for him at all.

Not as good as Barry, where would he fit in?
Player of the year last year was bollocks.... should have been Tevez or nani

-- Mon Aug 22, 2011 10:53 am --

Why get Parker when we have Milner? Same sort of players...

Only Milner is much better....

Said no yesterday and its still a big no.

We have a squad that is already carrying too many players who have no hope of a game and Parker would only add to that.

He got owned yesterday in a Championship game. Too slow and not a patch on what we already have.

He is a London based player who the London based media wanked over at every opportunity and thats the reason why he got so much hype last season.

We are after the likes of Nasri and possibly Sneijder yet some want this guy in?

Before i get accused of only wanting big name stars...i don't, i just want players that are better than what we already have and Parker doesn't tick any boxes.

Decent player but too old and not sure we particularly need to strengthen in the role he would play. I think Spurs are a much more likely destination for him.

the only positive i can see from this is the media darling playing for the media's devil will cause some very interesting backtracking in the press

isn't this the sort of player we're trying to get rid of atm. and for the we only have 4 players for that position argument i'd say that's all we need if nasri/another AM comes in. plus i'd put yaya in a seperate position anyway he's box to box not CM/DM

I don't understand why people think it is only worth buying someone if they are going to walk straight into the 1st 11. Do you not rememebr Mancini saying we would make up to 7 changes for the game after champions league game? Do you not think we will get any injuries all season? Did you forget we won't have Yaya for January?

We need a bigger squad and Parker would be a good, solid addition, who may even be captain if Vinny doesn't play, as long as he understands he will be rotated and may not get to play in many of the big games.

if true its a very strange one i don't see him as a mancini target?

never had champs league experience, never been in a top quality team, premiership experience yes but does he offer any more than what we have?

only reason i see parker as a target is that he is a cheap alternative for making the numbers up?
If Mancini is interested in him (and that's a very big IF), it won't be for the Champions League games, so his lack of experience at that level doesn't really matter. He'd be bought with the intention of filling in gaps in the domestic competitions immediately before and after European games.

Still sounds like a ludicrous story to me though.

Wouldn't have thought him to be necessary , we have Gareth Barry who for me is a very similar player to Parker. Plus we have Yaya , Milner , NDJ aswell as the possibility of Nasri . We are set in midfield I think , Parker will end up with someone like Villa or the Spuds.

Still can't believe people actually crave these really shit Mark Hughes like signings. He's no where near as good as Barry or Milner. We want nasri and have de Jong, silva and yaya who are world class to accommodate plus aj and most likely another wide player to come in.

In no way is this guy good enough for city even as a squad player. He wasn't even good enough in his prime at Chelsea let alone now.
