The shit navas gets is amazing. He produces at least 1 good goal scoring opportunity every game he plays. He may not run at defenders like he could do, but he's a very intelligent player. Very good squad player to have.

Best years behind him. He is 28 years old, 29 in the end of Nov and all of a sudden his best years are behind him? And that's why he should never start away from home. Impact sub when defenders are tiring towards the end of matches and it could be pivotal (remember Fulham away last season?) Perhaps an occasional start in home matches, where MP wants a bit of width.
Agree with what you said but the occasional start role in a couple of home matches or a last 20 mins should be left for an EDS lad to fit in a first team environment, Not a World Cup winner who's best years are clearly behind him? The EDS lad has a chance of improving and becoming the sort of prospect we want to see.
Last season he had one of the best seasons of his career, with most apperances coming off the bench.

I made all the points (and more) in NipHolmes post when we signed him and regrettably I believe I have been proven correct. It really was a crazy buy at the time. He'd failed to settle at loads of clubs at many levels, from Chel$ki through to Plymouth/Bristol Rovers/Swansea to name but a few... He is polar opposite to Milner for instance, James isn't a gifted talent like a Nasri or Silva but ges determined and put the hard yards in to make up for his attribute deficit. Meanwhile Sinclair is happy to vegetate at our club and cash in his wage cheques.
We bought the wrong Swansea winger, I said at the time we should've gone for Dyer, how right I was ;)

Navas started off very slowly last season, IMHO, but produced a great run and cross for the fourth goal on Manchester Derby Day last season and I thought, at last we're seeing the real Navas.
But since then, he has not beaten the fuil-back regularly enough, considering his fantastic pace. He's scored some great goals for us, most notably in the COC Final and against Spurs at home, but more often than not, he frustrates the hell out of me.
