Scottish Football Thread - 2023/24

The Old Firm are a huge part of Scottish football.

Undeniably so, but only within their own little bubble. Not that anyone is asking, but If there was a joint old firm thread I wouldn't visit, as I don't with the Rangers or the Celtic ones. I hold no interest. I think all but one live sky TV game this season has featured at least 1 of the cheeks, which is why I've watched precisely 0 live games on sky this season, as is the case most seasons. They both bore the tits off me. If an old firm game broke out my back garden I'd shut the curtains.

I was just making the suggestion of the two clubs' threads being merged so that obsessive tit for tat moaning that one team are so hard done by and the referees all favour the other can be avoided easier, it's tedious. Although understand Jimharri's reasons for not going down that road too.

Superb.

Without our best player as well, thoroughly deserved that.

First 20mins was all Celtic and I thought we could be onto a hiding but after that it became even and then Killie bossed them last hour.

Can't believe a penalty wasn't given when their defender saved it on the line with his elbow.

Just seen the penalty incident. He knew nothing about it but he did throw himself at the ball and it hit his arm away from his body. Certainly seen them given and would have to be a Red card

Just out of interest who’s your best player? Vassels? I’ve always thought Armstrong and Findlay two of your best players. Armstrong got Motm on Sky. I managed to watch the last 20 seconds!

I don't think it'd have been a red as you say he knew nothing about it so if I'm right the double jeopardy rule would apply, but definitely stopped the ball on the goal line with his arm so a penalty every day.

David Watson, all energy box to box CM. He's just signed a new contract but I don't see him staying it out...will earn us a few quid though I'm sure of that.

Armstrong was terrific today, is a fairly inconsistent performer who often picks the wrong option but a good creative outlet for us nonetheless. Plays better when Kennedy plays the other wing as it takes some reliance away from him. Becomes lopsided otherwise.

Is the double jeopardy rule not if you’re deemed to be trying to win the ball in a tackle?
I’m pretty sure handballs preventing a goal are all Reds.

Is Watson the young lad that scored at Pittodrie? Wears the ‘Armstrong bandage’?

It’s been a great few days for wee McInnes
